At a minimum, you will need another decent video card with 2 ports.
If the motherboard has built-in video outputs and one external video card, then you can try the simultaneous operation of the built-in and external video card. Then you can get 2 + 3 outputs.
For information - there are video cards of the Quadro NVS family that combine an acceptable price, up to 4 monitors and not high 3d performance.
Matrox also releases all sorts of multi frills.
The question was not specified on the stationary or laptop.
There are two vidyuhi with two outputs on the stationary and voila.
