How to evaluate a pet project and which payment option to choose?
Hello, I wondered how to monetize my pet project.
I'm interested in 2 points:
1) How to evaluate the application and understand how much people are willing to pay for it?
2) What's the payment option to do?
On the second question: Should it be a one-time purchase or a monthly subscription? Now I'm considering three options:
1) Reduced functionality, which is always available and full functionality by subscription, as done in toggl
2) There is a trial with full functionality, you need a subscription to continue using it, like in moqups
3) Completely free service, you can pay optionally via donations, as in mockapi
Thanks for the advice.

Everything strongly depends on the services provided by your project:
if the service is from the series "needed once every six months" - naturally, the subscription option will not work,
if the service that will be used constantly - the subscription option is quite reasonable.
If the service is focused on the ru-audience, then you can not even consider the option with donations.
In the case of free, you can, of course, try to make money on advertising, but without a really large audience there will be a penny.
Well, as for the price - first look at competitors, then think about how useful your service is or how much time it saves and how much you yourself would be willing to pay for it. Also, do not forget that at least self-sufficiency is needed - you cannot underestimate the price too much.
