How to enter sentences from the keyboard in pure C?

I do not understand how to enter "sentences" from the keyboard in C. Let's say there is a variable N - the number of input sentences. How to implement input and storage in a two-dimensional (?) array of sentence chars?
For example, to be like this:

And so that these lines are stored in the array?
