How to enable surround in Atom?

How to enable surround in Atom?
I go to the site and see that vim-mode and vim-surround are needed.
vim mode is already there.
Then I installed vim-surround following these instructions https://github.com/tpope/vim-surround. And nothing works. I don't get it - does Atom look in ~/.vim/bundle ? In theory, no. How then to use it?

The link you provided points to the original Vim plugin, but vim-mode for Atom does not add support for plugins written for Vim.
You probably need the Vim Surround for Atom plugin . (mixed up links)
