How to enable LDAP support in PHP?

There is an internal site that needs to be linked to the domain so that the personnel department can add users to the domain themselves. The site is spinning on Centos+apache+php+mysql.
Googled it and found this

LDAP support in PHP is not available by default. To activate, use the --with-ldap[=DIR] option when compiling PHP, where DIR is the installation directory of the LDAP database. To enable SASL support, make sure the --with-ldap-sasl[=DIR] option is used and that sasl.h exists on the system.

I don’t know where and how to enable these options, and even more so how to compile, I’m not very friendly with Linux, so there were difficulties.
