I have a FullHD monitor. I write applications and I want to understand how they will work on 2k, 4k and 1600*900 screens. How to do it?

If the video card is from Nvidia, you can e.g. enable DSR technology in the driver settings (it will allow you to set a "virtual" resolution up to 4K), on AMD cards a similar technology is called VSR (I'm not sure about support for specific models, though).
