How to effectively mine litecoin?
Hello. For academic purposes, I decided to look at coin miners.
Available: windows 8.1x64, GeForce 9800GT 1GB.
I took cudaMiner (latest version 2013.11.20), I run it with the standard load settings for the Windows task manager for the processor and the minimum memory, but the computer began to slow down. And, apparently, it is not operations that slow down, but the rendering of objects on the screen: you drag the window, but it does not have time to redraw. I tried many different combinations, but the brakes are still in place. Logically, the main thing that affects this is --threads, but I can’t change it at all if I set a value other than 1, then the miner crashes.
1. Is it possible to somehow set the desired load on the video card, or just lower khas / s in order to lower the load?
2. Tell me software that can monitor the load on the video card, by analogy with the dispatcher.
3. cgminer can somehow be run on nvidia cards or just AMD? How is he doing with the ability to limit the speed of mining?

After such a rise in the rate, I also decided to start mining litecoins. Of all your questions, I can only help with number 2 - I use Process Explorer . It has both cpu and gpu, and in general everything that is possible :)
PS Is there any point in mining for 20khash/s? Checking your gtx770 with 218khash/s per month through a calculator, it turns out about $130, assuming that electricity is free.
I recommend you not to mine on nvidia cards - their performance is depressing. On a simple HD 7950 you get 600KN for $250.
3. As far as I can see here , cudaMiner or reaper is used for nvidia. In the latter, the intensity of mining is configured by the aggression parameter.
