How to draw infographics? Specifically Euler circles?

Actually a subject, in what to draw infographics? I especially ask for advice on how to draw something like this:

It takes a long time in gimp or photoshop. In Visio 2007, I did not find such an opportunity.

In Visio (even 2003) there are no problems - first we draw as many circles as needed, select them all, then do it through the Shapes -> Operations -> Fragment menu. Pieces are obtained, which can then be painted as you like.

The keyword is "vector editor". Inkscape, Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator. Well, Visio will roll, and perhaps a drawing program in OpenOffice or some other Office.
Method 1. Described above for Visio. Using logical operations to get the intersection of circles.
Method 2. Make the circles translucent.
