How to draw a large diagram of a computer network?

Hello everyone, I'm trying to find a program for drawing large computer networks, say 500 nodes. Visio and something like that is not an option, because. it’s damn inconvenient to draw a big scheme there, I tried web services like cacoo, but 50 elements, and it can’t stand it anymore, it starts to terribly stupid and slow down, now I’m using the Dia program, but it’s also far from ideal, what can you suggest, thanks!
