How to download a clip from Youtube?

In my trainings, I often use small excerpts from various films to illustrate. In order to get a fragment in 30 sec. downloading every time 2-3 hours of movies and manually cut - very troublesome.
How to download only the required segment of the video (from xx sec to yy sec.) ?
I tried TubeChop, but it is not clear from it how to download. The ultimate goal is to get the desired fragment on the computer disk in any playable video format.

If only 30 seconds, then you can record through screen capture with some Xsplit.
