How to donate an application from the Android Market?

There are two Android phones in the family, respectively, a personal gmail account is attached to each phone. I have a credit card linked to my account through Google Checkout. There was no such need on the wife's phone.
Now there is a need to buy a game “collect a figure” for a child on her phone. There is not the slightest desire to link your credit card to her account (and even more so a new one).
How to get out of this situation? Ready to pay for everything from your account. How to do it?

Root the phone, get the apk out of the cache.

Create a virtual card and link it to your wife's account.

Unfortunately, this is the problem with all (not only Android) electronic purchases (apps, books, etc.). Nothing that you honestly bought can no longer be given or resold. This discourages me from using this kind of stores, especially when you consider that there are almost always free analogues.
If there is still a way to donate or resell, then I will be glad to hear about it. However, I think it's fantastic.

Same situation. It seems - and honestly I want to, but it doesn’t work out ...
