How to do something "for show" in JS?

Hello everyone
Customers / Employers as one of the list items are asked to show css / js. I have my own portfolio site with 6+ projects (well, the portfolio site itself), but there is a problem with js. I myself think that I know js well, but I have nothing to show me except jQuery (element manipulation, plugin settings). I haven’t taken on frameworks yet, as they advised me to learn JS first.
There are two questions:
1) How do I know if it is possible to learn frameworks with my knowledge of JS?
2) What can be done and shown to the customer from JS?
