How to divide tasks between a project and a product?

They sit in the same office. Project, product and programmer.
The product can, in principle, set tasks for the programmer. Is a project needed in this case?

If you cannot answer why it is needed, then it is not needed.
A project is needed when you have such a large project that the teams (plural) can no longer effectively coordinate the work themselves.
And you probably do not need a product.
