How to distinguish a real Windows SmartScreen popup from a fake one?

I saw such a popup with an administrator password request in windows 10 when starting the miranda installer downloaded from sourceforge
. I hadn’t seen this before, but I didn’t have time to stop and entered the password. Next, a regular modal window appears asking for the same password.
As far as I understand, the smartscreen window is a request to launch, and then to elevate the rights.
Question - how would I distinguish the same window shown by a virus? it doesn't block the whole screen like a normal admin request

Check the installer file with an antivirus, for example at https://www.virustotal.com
