How to display radioButton as stars?

Hello.
I am working on a project that has the following problem.
There is a list of checkBoxes, if the user puts a checkmark, then some "asterisks" should appear next to the checkBox, with which we can indicate the level of ownership of the marked item (conditionally from 1 to 5). I suppose that these same "asterisks" are best implemented through radioButton (although not essential).
If there are no special problems with the appearance and disappearance of "asterisks", how can I figure it out, then how can I display them and make them work? The essence is this: we indicate the level of ownership by clicking on the asterisks and the number from 1 to 5 should be saved in the form, it doesn’t matter how (in input, radioButton, etc.).
Can you please tell me how to implement it correctly? Perhaps there are ready-made solutions or libraries.
