How to display error messages in Bitrix?

The documentation about the CUser::Login() function says: "...If the authorization is successful, it returns "true", otherwise, if the login and password are incorrect, it returns an array with an error for the ShowMessage function."
So I'm trying to display an error message, but it doesn't work ((
Please tell me how to call the ShowMessage() function correctly?

What exactly is not clear? (Somehow it turned out roughly, I mean, I tried the example, it outputs as it should.)
