Actually the question is how to display widgets from the QWidget hierarchy in a QML application, is it possible in Qt 5.5 and QtQuick 2+ or not.

Haven't tried or tested it myself, but there is a great answer on SO .
They write that it is possible in Qt Quick 1, but not in 2+ due to the introduction of the scene graph.
