How to display a picture from XBOX on a laptop screen?
Available:
- Xbox Series S
- Xiaomi Notebook Pro, Windows 11
Is it possible to somehow output an image from the Xbox to the laptop screen via HDMI?
There is not always access to TV, I wanted to play from the laptop.
Now if I connect to a laptop via HDMI, then nothing happens, how and where to select a picture from the Xbox is not clear. I read somewhere that laptops only have HDMI Out, and can only give an outgoing picture.
Don’t offer the remote game feature from the Xbox companion, my picture is pouring when playing via the Internet, as I understand it, it doesn’t work via LAN, the laptop and xbox are on the same local network, but it starts as if via the Internet.

Here are the hdmi specs on your laptop:
HDMI video output:
1080p resolution (up to 60Hz)
4K resolution (up to 30Hz)
Now guess if you can output a picture to your laptop?
A video capture board with HDMI input and USB connection to a computer may help you.
I don’t know how they deal with delays, but streamers seem to use them to stream console games.
You need an HDMI capture card. The cheapest, but the worst option is Macrosilicon dongles for $15 from aliexpress. They capture a maximum of [email protected] / [email protected], only in MJPEG, only with color subsampling, and even in partial horizontal resolution - the picture will be rotten, but there will be at least some.
