For some time now, in order to access the Internet from a phone, it is necessary to pass identification by sending an SMS to a short number, otherwise you will not get access to the Internet. Interestingly, access from a tablet that does not have a gsm module appears immediately without any extra requests. I suspect that there is a determination when connecting to the network, whether there is a gsm on the device, if so, access is blocked until confirmation. Question: is it possible to somehow block the definition of gsm on the device?

Have you tried putting your phone in airplane mode? And then turn on wifi?
