How to disable html tags in Messages (iChat) on Mac OS?

When sending messages, people receive text with html tags, such as:

BODY ICHATBALLOONCOLOR="#bac7d2" ICHATTEXTCOLOR="#000000"

Is there any way to disable these tags from posts?
Everywhere there are solutions with editing the com.apple.iChat.AIM.plist file
. But I don’t have this file in ~/Library/Preferences/.
What could be the problem?
OS X Version 10.9.3
