How to disable Google+ notifications?
One day I signed up for Google+, added a few people to circles, didn't find anything interesting for me and forgot. Some people like G+, some don't - it's a matter of taste. He didn't bother me.
Recently, I received a notification that some spammer added me to their circles and it started! A bright red annoying message appeared in the form of a square with the number 1. I must say that such notifications had already come before, I looked through them and they disappeared. But that was before.
I tried all the settings, unchecked all the boxes, disabled all notifications. Nothing helps. It is especially annoying that when you open a browser window, at first everything is OK, but after some unpredictable actions, this red garbage crawls out imposingly animating to additionally attract attention.
I want to ask a practical question - how to get rid of this?
Will deleting my Google+ account help?
And I also want to ask a rhetorical question - why did they do it?
I respect Google and have been using its products for 10 years. For me, gmail is a working tool - business letters, documents in Google Docs. I use the red marker only for especially important cases and messages. And this icon looks like a mockery, but the real mockery is the inability to turn it off and predict behavior.
Google was sometimes boring, sometimes not very convenient. But he was never intrusive and was always predictable. But something broke in the corporation of goodness and lately he has been constantly sending some kind of notifications and updates.
Maybe I just turned into a lazy teapot and spoiled by Apple's approach, I just can't find the right checkbox. But a quick search in the same Google in the first lines gave links to some browser plugins that need to be installed in order to cut out a small square! Is this not absurd?

And things are still there.

In the Account settings there is Delete profile and opt out of Google+ features.
You can only choose to delete Google+ content, then the account will look like before the launch of G+
You can ban unwanted spammers.
plus.google.com/circles
Choosing a spammer.
Actions - Block.
Maybe something is cached wrong somewhere in the browser? Have you tried in another browser? I use r+ quite actively, under 200 all sorts of people (including spammers) in circles, I never got +1 “on my own”, only if someone personally wrote something to me.
