How to determine the cause of the failure of the windows 2003 server?

Hello.
According to a colleague at a new job, after updating the 1C configuration, the server of periodicity began to go down by itself. as a result of which the 1C base becomes corrupted.
when the server lies down, everyone is thrown out of 1C and the server itself is not available via ping, I resort directly to the server to see what's the matter?! the diode on the case is on and the server itself is turned on BUT the monitor is completely black (as if in sleep mode, I pull the mouse and press the keys does not exit the state) the server starts the reset button.
there are a lot of print-related errors in the event log
Characteristics:

Southbridge overheating? Very similar symptoms. Googling, check the operation of the cooling system.

Is the server an ordinary office computer?
Transfer Windu to another similar known good hardware.
Not the case to find out what's the matter - first the server must work flawlessly, then everything else.
