How to deal with the environment for web development?

Background:
I have macOS. I don't know much about OS architecture. I always worked through MAMP PRO, I never deployed anything on a server, but I decided to understand "how it generally works." I found a bunch of manuals for manually assembling the necessary environment. But something went wrong, I don’t remember what exactly, but mysql was never installed. He spat on everything, returned to MAMP. Truth it ceased to contact with SQL. As I understand it, it's in the port, I changed it to another one - it all worked.
The essence of the question:
How to find out how many copies of Apache, php interpreters, and MySql servers are currently installed on my computer? I know that all this stuff is by default in the system + MAMPa has its own + I tried to install something myself. How can I tear it all down and still return to the option of installing everything from scratch, so that it does not conflict with each other?

@Sanes

Install the control panel. And a Linux server. Why bother with manual settings?
Or you can look at these scripts , for manual configuration, it may help.
