How to deal with "The connection was reset" error on habré?

Reading Habr from a mobile 56K link (3G speed drops to such a dial-up level when the monthly traffic limit is exhausted), I often encounter this problem:
The article is loading, comments start loading, and then bam, the page disappears and “The connection was reset".
You have to carefully monitor the progress of the download and manually press Stop in time.
Maybe you can configure Firefox so that when the connection is broken by the server, it leaves the page as it is, and does not reset and replace it with the entire error screen? Is there an option for this in about:config or an extension?

This is due to the fact that DDoS protection is enabled on Habré in combination with the fact that gzip is disabled, which is why pages have recently become three to five times heavier than before. Due to the large volume of pages, the connection lasts longer and the protection system considers you an intruder. The developers are aware of the problem, but they are happy with it for now. Use opera in turbo mode or other services to compress traffic, such as toonel.net, if it is still alive :)

As a temporary solution, you can use Oper with settings (page loading is continuous). In a difficult situation with Opera Turbo.
And so, this problem has already been described on Habré, look.

Maybe offtopic, but why such torment? Now in Russia, even in the outback, you can buy 256-512k adsl / ethernet unlimited for reasonable money, and even in the small Czech Republic, even more so, kmk.
