How to deal with auto-redirect to the authorization site when connecting to a public WiFi hotspot?

Here is a typical story. In particular, it happened to me right now, which prompted me to write a question.
Sitting at home, I opened the tabs to read later. Came with a laptop in Starbucks. Launched Chrome. And in almost all tabs, instead of the fact that the hotspot home page was opened there (some simply did not open, it is enough to press F5 there and there is no problem). At the same time, the page URL was replaced with the hotspot URL, and the "back" button does not work - the browser did not notice that it had gone somewhere from the original URL and simply forgot it (well, maybe something was saved in the global history, but I'm too lazy to dig there) .
Ideally, it would be great to make sure that when you open the browser, the tabs do not load at all until you go to them (Firefox has this, but alas, Chrome does not) and that no redirects work at all without explicit manual confirmation. I don't even mind launching another browser for authorization.

well, launch another browser for authorization and then open your own one, you can use IE for this - at least it will come in handy for something :)
