How to customize the carousel in Bootstrap?

A couple of questions about this example - codepen.io/dhatt/pen/xEAOKb?editors=1000
1. For some reason, these arrows (left-right) are displayed in blue on my computer. In the example on Codepen, it's normal, white. How to fix and what is the reason for different display? The code is similar, all CSS JS are connected, it seems, correctly. The browser is the same - Chrome.
2. How to work with the picture on the middle slide? How to center it? How to change its size?
3. How to make a fixed size so that when switching slides it does not jump?
upd: In general, as I understand it, Bootsrap's carousel is shit? Is it better to use third party plugins?
