How to customize a Drupal theme for yourself?

The bottom line is... I just started getting to know Drupal. I figured out the main functionality, from additional modules, to the point of materials and their use. It's time to work with an individual site theme. In its main settings. I am currently studying to be a programmer. In this regard, php has not yet reached.
I'm getting to the point.
-How can I change the ready-made Drupal theme to suit my needs (make it individual)?
1. Learn php and figure it out yourself
2. Are there any general standards for writing a theme? That is, is it possible to simply replace the images with the ones you need in the images folder, replace some settings?
I apologize for the vague question, I tried to make it as clear as possible (I'm completely green in this matter). I understand that the option to write the topic myself is much better, but I need to deal with this issue within a week, so I welcome the second option more.

If there is a suitable theme, then create its child theme and change what you need in the child folder.

the option to write the topic yourself is actually worse, because you will spend a lot of time and it will turn out well only once from the 10th.
it is better to take a ready-made good theme (bootstrap for example) and make a sub-theme based on it.

well, in general, there are a lot of things for the phrase "drupal subtheme".

Regardless of how you create/modify a theme, it is imperative that you familiarize yourself with the structure of the theme 's . On the off site there is detailed information about this. Here you can find out everything. This is also useful.
