Is it possible to create your own symbols and then use them in your programs? The problem is that there are not enough

Unicode has character regions for private use, specifically for programs that need a non-standard character. There are two ways to display such characters on the screen.
1. Write your font.
2. Write your own typographic engine. Using elements of the system, of course.
The first, in my opinion, is simpler, the second will give a more interesting result (for example, a symbol can be displayed as a colored icon).
