How to create transparent mesh in Photoshop and save as .png?

I take a layer, add a sect pattern effect, I don't see anything. As soon as I fill a layer of paint, everything is visible. I make transparency and I don't see the grid.... How can I create a grid and save it separately?

You just need to draw this grid, literally, and not use layer effects. To draw geometrically exactly - the easiest way is in Illustrator (there are a lot of tools for the exact arrangement of elements), then play it in Photoshop with a smart object and make the desired transparency for the layer.
And, for your own good, never use Russian translations of professional programs, including from Adobe, never at all. Because as soon as a more or less complicated question arises, and none of the pros will be able to give you advice, you will communicate in different languages, menu items, settings options and everything, everything, everything will be impossible to explain. Most of the truly sensible books, all Internet forums and other communication resources for printing professionals, all use only the English version of the interface

Eh... Connoisseurs... You can't say to do this in Photoshop... And by the way, this is done very simply. As I understand it, the author has already done all the preparatory steps and made a pattern in the form of a grid, however, in order for the grid to become "transparent" it is necessary:
1. Create a new layer.
2. Select the "Pattern stamp" tool (Right-clicking on all known copy stamps - a context menu will appear where the tool we need is selected",
3. Select in the "Pattern Palette" (located almost under the "Help" tab) a pattern in the form grids.
4. In the "Pattern stamp" tool settings, select the simplest brush (round), then set the maximum size (to fill the entire canvas), then click anywhere on the canvas - a "transparent" grid will appear on the screen (without a white background), however, to get such a result, it is necessary to remove the background layer at the stage of creating the grid pattern, and only then save the pattern.
PS Yes, yes, I know. that after 7 years, but suddenly someone will come in handy in the future. :)

I didn't quite understand what you are trying to do. If you want to create a transparent layer so that there is no white fill, then;
1. create a file
2. add a new layer
3. on the Background layer with a "lock" - click 2 times and the layer is unlocked, then you delete it.
4. you only have a transparent layer in the file.

No way. What about the meaning? You draw anything on the layer, the picture overlay effect will overlay the texture on top and you still won’t see anything but this texture.
This is done so that, for example, the layer can be in the form of a path on the plan, and it is lined with stone. So the track is drawn as an area of arbitrary shape with transparency at the edges, and the effect accordingly paints over only the filled area of the layer.
