How to create similar animations of the main characters in cutscenes?

Hello. I'm completely new to UE4 and have a question. I want to learn how to do similar animations for the main characters in the game, that is, their movement, facial expressions, waving their arms and legs, and the like.
But as far as I know, in today's world, major campaigns use costumes like this to capture animations and transfer them to the main characters of the game.

But can you do without it? Will you have to create frame by frame? Or are there any ways? Or still without this equipment in any way?
Thanks

If there is nothing, then only frame by frame. Another option is that there are huge free libraries of mocap animations (google for the word BVH), there are already stuck to the skeleton, there are raw mocaps that you will need to sculpt on the skeleton with pens. The free libraries are really huge.
You can make a mocap with your own hands, for this they buy a kinect (preferably the 2nd version) and ipiSoft Motion Capture. It turns out very suitable and simple, but even so, this is not professional equipment.
