How to create and manage a test LAN?
I work for a distribution company. We deal with all kinds of information security solutions. Both network and endpoints. Naturally, for various purposes, we have a test environment deployed on a pair of ESXs. Many of our products are deployed in this environment. But, I don't like that the test environment is static. The systems are deployed, but there is not much load on them. Or, for example, clients sometimes want to see how it all works not on one machine, but on a normal grid.
Question. Who knows what ways to create a test environment for a couple of hundred hosts? Maybe there are some emulators with the ability to create Dummy hosts with different profiles? Like 50 win 7, 10 linux, etc. This is the first part of the question.
So far, I see only AWS VPC for myself. In principle, an acceptable option, but there are several questions.
1. How are the licenses? if I need to deploy 100 screw hosts, for example? Not for work, but just for extras.
2. I need some kind of control system so that I can deploy tens / hundreds of machines with a standard profile with one click. is there such a thing?
3. How would you rate the budget? At least order.
This is the second part.

For tests, in my opinion, you can use a computer with windows 2008r2 + hiper v snap-in, fill in the iso images, set the default system attributes and parameters and deploy as many independent copies as you like. With licenses everything is simple 30 days trial period
