How to create an editable area of my Drupal 7 theme in the frontpage?

Good day, dear community!
The problem is this: a simple custom landing theme was created on Drupal 7.34, in which there is one page.tpl.php file, and only html in it.
It is necessary that the site administrator be able to edit the text of the site in the frontpage.
This is implemented in Bitrix, called "editable area".
Please tell me how this can be done? Or at least point in the right direction.
And please, no need to discuss the topic of the MEANING of implementing a landing page on Drupal, etc.
Thank you in advance!
Good luck in creativity!

I use the Panels module for landing pages . Panels are very convenient for such tasks.
Also for there is an excellent assembly Panopoly , everything is built on panels and an interesting module is used Panels Everywhere .

You can try the nodeblock module . Then you simply create the necessary types of materials, write templates for them, and enter the necessary materials into the regions.
