How to create a tape effect?

How can you process a music file to make it look like it's a tape? Overlay the rustling of a tape on top of the wav or are there any other options? Perhaps, plug-ins for sound processing programs ... Probably, you won’t achieve a realistic effect just by rustling the tape.

Somehow I did this, cutting off some frequencies, but I can’t remember which ones - lower or upper. Try in any player in the equalizer to lower the lower frequencies, then the upper ones.

There are a bunch of VST plugins that mimic the tape. Throw the file into the DAW, hang up the plugin and render. This is if you need a tape effect. And there is the effect of the "handset" - such a preset is in any normal equalizer.
