How to create a gallery from a home photo archive for your own use with the differentiation of rights?

Tell me a suitable cms for storing a home photo archive, with the ability to manage access rights, manual registration.
There are quite a few galleries on the web, but in 90% of cases they are either abandoned or monstrous. We need a minimalistic design, a minimum of page reloads (there are many scripts that reload the page to scroll through the photo).
The gallery will be viewed both on a computer and on touch devices, I would like to have at least an adaptive interface out of the box.
Uploading photos, of course, should not be done one at a time. And preferably both from the administrative interface and via FTP.
