How to create a folder nesting limit in a directory?
Good afternoon.
We have a server for file storage for documents of employees of the organization.
At the moment, it is being optimized and a normal structure is being created.
In order to prevent it from becoming trash, a number of restrictions must be introduced for users. One of which is to limit the nesting of folders in some user directories on the server. Please let me know how this can be done. The maximum that I found is a limit on the number of files / folders in a directory. But about nesting - nothing at all. I would really appreciate any ideas. How did you solve such a problem? (SED is not of particular interest yet, it is the logic of the file storage that is needed so that the user makes a "step left-step right - execution" and again a huge garbage dump for several TB would not turn out).

If I may, a critique of this method. Quotas are better for you (easily implemented by means of Linux and Windows), allocate a fixed amount for each user / group. And limiting the storage method is already total control. It is not always convenient to be limited to a certain level of nesting. How someone stores their personal data is his own business. Someone throws everything "at the root", someone separates it into folders.
