How to create a bot for a website without using ready-made integrations?

Greetings!

There is a website and a desktop application in the live chat format, where clients write.
The task is to create a bot that will "read" these messages and, possibly, send pre-prepared answers using keywords.
There is no opportunity to use ready-made solutions that require integration. I'm learning JAVA, but my knowledge is not yet strong enough to find a solution myself.

Please tell me your ideas about this. How can I implement what to use for this, I will be very grateful for the literature, resources with information.

I implemented such a mechanism in my time. You can use my library if you want. I still use it in many projects where it is required to implement an autoresponder bot.
