How to correct components in 1C bitrix?
Hello!
The task is to create an online store on 1C bitrix. To implement the catalog, use a complex component, copy it into your template and then edit it? It's just that the component has various options for displaying the product, which is not provided for in the project, that is, a bunch of extra code. What to do? Correct only what is needed and leave the rest unchanged? Or is there some normal way to create a directory?

Yes, you need to copy the component template, preferably to the site template, so as not to lose or get confused, and edit what you need.
You need to copy the component template to your site template (namespace, as Bitrixoids are called). Watch how everything is done there and, with a certain skill, remove almost everything, leave only the cortex and what you need just to not repeat the code. also delete all subtemplates and unnecessary files.
If something is needed, it is better to look at how it was done in a typical one and transfer it to yourself than to leave everything initially. Just get confused in the code.
Bitrix has a complex structure, so the fewer files you leave, the easier it will be to navigate in it later.
It's easier to edit a standard template than to transfer it to your own.
