At random, it turned out that only after the text is copied and pasted inside putty, the contents of the buffer in putty are transferred to the ubuntu buffer.

If this is a console shell, then just a selection. Inserted into any Ubuntu editor by clicking on the scroll. (If you are not in the know, read about two clipboards in Linux)
If it is mcedit or mcview, then there is a slight difference - you need to copy the same selection, but with the shift key pressed.
