How to copy backups from server to NAS via VPN (and samba)?

The site and the VPN server to which the NAS is connected are running on the VPS. The server has a daily backup to the directory. How to organize the subsequent copying of the created backups to some folder on the NAS? Not a big nix specialist, so I'm at a loss.
Ideally, I would like to get the job type in cron: cp /home/user/bck01.tar.gz \\192.168.1.2/wwwbackup/bck01.tar.gz

If the VPS and Synology are connected to the same network (for example, via VPN), then there should be no problems.
It is not clear to me why to use samba. I would advise using rsync.
And so there is ftp, webdav, ssh.
