How to convert unicode escape sequences?

How to convert \convert unicode escape sequences to readable form?
For example, you need to convert:

\u043D\u0430\u0441\u0442\u0440\u043E\u0439\u043A\u0438

into readable form:настройки

There is an insert-char function called via Cx 8 RET. It converts one character to 043D. Based on it, you can write a function with a loop to convert all characters of the selection. And if in a simple way, then in a couple of minutes a macro is recorded that converts one character, and then this macro can be run both one character at a time and with the Alt-0 argument (you enter the text into a separate buffer).
