How to convert the news.list component template to catalog.section.list?

Now there are news on the site (without sections), they are displayed through news.list
I created a new section, there will also be subsections in it, I decided to display it through catalog.section.list
So, I would like everything to be displayed exactly the same as in the news.list component template.

template within template is not best practice as you will have cache issues.
As an option, select news in the catalog.section.list component via api
