How to Convert Proxmox to a cluster with already existing Vm and CT?

to it on proxmox itself there are about 40 machines

The backup didn't bother anyone. However, building a proxmox cluster does not damage the virtual machines. The maximum that you can spoil is to make them inaccessible. The network will most likely need to be rebuilt. For normal operation, IMHO, you need at least 3 1GB cards.
