How to control tracks on iPhone with car stereo headphone jack via CD changer jack?

Good afternoon!
I have an iPhone. The car has a head unit, there are control buttons on the steering wheel: track forward, track back and the MODE button, which now, with a short press, switches the sound source - radio or CD, and with a long press - turns on / off the radio.
The radio has a connector for connecting a CD changer. I would like, using this connector and a self-developed circuit, to make it so that I can do the following.
1. Listen through the car speakers to the music that is playing on the iPhone. It is solved by "stupidly" connecting the iPhone with a cable to the CD-changer connector. The so-called AUX.
2. Manage tracks on the iPhone using the buttons on the steering wheel: track forward, track back.
As you know, Apple's native headset allows you to control tracks. It is described in detail heremacdaily.me/quick-trick/how-to-use-handsfree-with-...
As the radio repairman explained to me, the stock radio uses a digital signal to control tracks (forward/backward) on the CD changer.
If I understand correctly, the Apple headset also uses a digital signal to control tracks.
Maybe someone will tell me if it is possible to solve my problem and if so, how. If I understand correctly, then you need to develop a circuit that will allow you to implement your plan and connect the iPhone with a cable through this circuit to the connector for connecting the CD changer of the radio.
I think that such a scheme would be very useful for many motorists. Especially if you manage to make it universal.
Thank you.
