How to control playback of SVG animation in Adobe Edge Animate?

When inserting an SVG file with animation into an Adobe Edge Animation project, the animation plays immediately and stops or plays continuously (if it is looped in the SVG file). How can I control the SVG animation with JS or some other way so that the playback is triggered by the required event?
