How to connect the "new" computer to the local network?

Hello!
Such situation. There are a number of computers and a server running Windows Server 2003. There are several folders on the server that should be accessible from all computers. Now it was required to connect a new computer to this network.
When everything is set to "automatic" in the TCP / IP settings, this computer has the Internet, there is a ping with the rest of the computers, but it does not connect to the server's shared folders. When I make the settings the same as on other computers, everything disappears, both the Internet and ping.
Please tell me where to dig? What should be the course of action in such a situation? And sorry for the noob questions, can you tell me what and where to read :)

On the server, create exactly the same user as on the new computer. Passwords must match.
