How to connect photodiode to stm32f4 via ADC?

Need to connect photodiode to stm32f4 microcontroller via onboard adc, what is the best way to do it?
if there are code examples it would be nice

@MagoVinch

In the general case - through a transimpedance amplifier on the op-amp. The choice of op amp and feedback resistor value is highly dependent on the required dynamic range, photodiode type, bandwidth, etc. Usually they put a JFET op-amp with minimal input currents and minimal current noise, and at very high speeds sometimes they use the AD8014 (moreover, this option is even officially recommended in the datasheet). But the last one is clearly not your case, STM32F4 will not digitize such nanoseconds.
