How to connect midi keyboard to iPhone 4?
Hello!
I use a midi keyboard M-Audio Keystation 88es, so far connected to a PC with Windows 7, used ASIO4ALL and was happy. For me, this keyboard is a substitute for a piano, so I don't need any more tricks than a standard piano sound. Recently I got an iPhone 4, and it occurred to me that perhaps there is a way to connect a keyboard to it, there must be some kind of software, paid or, better, free. Then just plug the headphones into the jack and play. Again, I don't need any super effects, recordings or samples. Interested in the presence of software that understands the midi signal and somehow elementarily converts it into sound, and the technical implementation of the connection. The iPhone is running firmware 7.1.2. I read about the fact that some people manage to connect through the SSK, designed for the iPad, but from the reviews I realized that
In general, maybe someone faced a similar problem, share a solution or advice, please.
Thank you.

I connect the M-Audio Keyrig 49 keyboard to the iPad (to 3, and then to Air) using the Camera Connection Kit.
GarageBand recognizes the keyboard and plays great.
The problem is that if you connect an adapter to the iPad, and then insert a keyboard into the adapter, iOS will swear that the device consumes too much.
If you first connect the keyboard to the adapter, and then insert it into the iPad, then everything works.
Haven't tried it with an iPhone. If interested, I can try.
