How to connect macbook pro (ME865) to external monitor 23" DELL P2314H

Please tell me how to solve the connection problem.
There is a macbook pro (ME865) and a 23" DELL P2314H monitor. I
connect it like this:
Macbook Pro - HDMI to DisplayPort cable - 23" DELL P2314H monitor.
Writes that there is no signal. Actually there is no signal and nothing works.
I bought 2 cables - neither the 1st nor the 2nd work!
I checked the HDMI connection to the TV - everything is OK. Works without problems.
Hence the conclusion that everything is in order with the HDMI output on the laptop.
I tried to connect in the same way to another Dell monitor with DisplayPort - nothing happened either!
How can I connect a macbook pro (ME865) to a 23" DELL P2314H?

I have one of the macbooks connected via Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter MB571Z/A, I don't remember the dell monitor either.
And why not try looking for a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable, although they are rare on sale.
