There are two problems
1. The AD server to which the connection is being made is not specified.
2. The AD server (and this is a Windows server) must be available from the timeweb service. This requirement will add gray hair to the admin, since giving access from an external resource to AD, in my opinion, is not the best solution in terms of information security. ADAM can be used to solve this problem . The AD administrator password is also not worth shining, especially on a third-party resource. To connect, any user with the rights to read AD is enough.
And yes, you need to specify the root of the tree like dc=xxx,dc=com
