How to connect a second video card if there is not enough space?
There are two video cards, the motherboard supports the connection of two video cards (there are two PCI-E x16 slots) and even if you want, you can shove them in and everything will work (I already tried it), but then there is a cooling problem - the efficiency of coolers in such a sandwich drops by 70 percent Accordingly ,
the question arises - is it possible to somehow connect one of the video cards from the outside? I know that there are cases with connection via thunderbolt, but this option does not suit me, because. connection becomes slow. Maybe there are some cases with connection via PCI-E? Something like a PCI-E extension cable? I couldn't google, maybe I just don't know the keywords. I saw extension cables for PCI-E, but they are all short. Is it a physical limitation? Extension cable cannot be made longer due to high speeds?
In order not to have a hate about mining, I will add that I am writing a voxel engine on a volcano and rays, a second video card is needed to test the rays on a video card without RTX support. Video cards are: RTX 3080Ti and GTX 1080.
